Reporting to the Manager of Student Systems in the Students Division the Business Analyst is a member of the Student Systems team and plays a key role in gathering documenting and managing system/IT requirements across the Students addition to managing requirements the incumbent will be responsible for identifying proposing and coordinating system enhancements; detailing business processes; and building and maintaining strong relationships within the Students Division and across the institution by serving on various projects working groups and committees. This position requires a good understanding of systems and data excellent probing and investigation skills and direct experience and formal training in business analysis. As a Systems team member the Business Analyst will participate in software application implementations and upgrades; strong communication and an affinity for technology are essential for success in this role.

Business Analysis (50%)
Responsible for completing business process analysis gathering and documenting the business requirements and defining project and functional specifications.
Analyze user and functional requirements to ensure they align with business requirements and stakeholder priorities.
Lead business process and design walk-through sessions for the purpose of effectively scoping and assessing the impact of proposed changes to business processes and systems.
Research and develop business cases including technological alternatives policy and procedural enhancements.
Support the planning designing developing and testing of effective and efficient business processes systems/applications.
Organize facilitate and chair meetings with business experts to define and refine requirements as well as document meeting outcomes and action items.
Promote the appropriate application of technology to business problems.
Apply proven communication analytical and problem-solving skills to help maximize the business benefits of projects and initiatives.
Operational Support (25%)
Troubleshoot and support business operations issues within the Students Division.
Facilitate new employee system access system user audits and management.
Support employee development through coaching and training.
Support CRM-based communication processes and other system processes managed internally.
Ensure quality control data security and adherence to data standards.
System Testing (25%)
Support Banner Upgrade testing and other third-party systems as required.
Develop and coordinate user acceptance testing for systems and process changes.
Three or Four Year Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
Minimum two years Business Analysis experience
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Access database design and development)
Functional knowledge of Google Suite
Experience with SQL and Relational Databases
Analytical problem-solving skills with an understanding of relational database design and function
Experience writing user documentation and delivering training materials
Ability to influence and motivate others to adopt a course of action
Ability to manage and facilitate change across multiple stakeholder groups
Experience managing multiple tasks and deadlines within a rapidly changing environment
Ability to learn new software applications/tools
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and employ good judgement
High degree of analysis decisiveness problem-solving reasoning attention to detail and organization
Desired Skills and experience:
Experience with information systems used in the post-secondary sector such as student information systems (Banner) CRMs or Data Analysis/Management systems.
Business Analysis certificate

Salary: $81299.40 - $102884.60 per annum
