Summary
We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our dynamic team at ISG. This role is essential in supporting our HR functions and ensuring a smooth operation within our human resources department. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of fostering a positive workplace culture while assisting with various HR tasks.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative task and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resources department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members in onboarding process including HRIS portion and I-9 collection and verification
- Maintain I-9 reverifications and documents up to date prior to expiration.
- Processes required tasks for employee transfers changes in job classification salary increases terminations and other related employment matters.
- Maintains and assist with payroll functions including generating reports answering employee questions and distributing checks.
- Handles inventory and maintenance for sales employees headset uniform shirts and security access badges.
- Answers frequently asked questions from candidates and employees relative to standard policies and employee life cycle with the company. Will refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment organization-wide meetings employee recognition events holiday parties and department events.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation as needed.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files record and documentation.
- Maintains knowledge of the companys benefits program to properly interpretant to employees.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Reliable and maintains satisfactory attendance.
Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in related field preferred. High School diploma required.
- Prior related office experience required.
Physical Requirements:
This is largely a sedentary role; however filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedules are subject to change at any time.
