We are looking for a hands-on technically strong development engineerwho loves turning ideas into reality someone eager to grow into a role that combines engineering depth with project coordination and supplier collaboration.
Youll work side-by-side with our global Research & Advanced Development team in Eindhoven (The Netherlands)and our partners in Shenzhen and Hong Kong building and testing early functional prototypes that define the future of our baby care portfolio.
This is a role for a maker-engineer someone who can think build and lead through collaboration with the ambition to grow toward project and supplier management responsibilityover time.
In this role youll have the opportunity to
1. Work globally every day
Collaborate directly with our innovation teams in Eindhoven and Hong Kong translating early functional concepts into tangible prototypes. Your work will influence global products sold in more than 100 countries.
2. Learn end-to-end product creation
Be part of the full product journey from concept and prototypeto functional verification and manufacturable design. Youll work across disciplines to understand how great ideas become high-quality mass-produced products.
3. Grow as both an engineer and project coordinator
Get hands-on with CAD prototyping and testing while learning how to plan supplier activities manage timelines and balance technical trade-offs. A bit of prior project management experience is a plus and youll continue to grow these skills under guidance from experienced Philips innovators.
4. Build things that matter
Your work will directly improve the lives of parents and babies around the world from feeding and soothing to smart care innovations. This is engineering with purpose.
5. Work close to creation
Located in Shenzhen youll be right at the center of the worlds fastest innovation ecosystem. Youll prototype test and learn fast combining local agility with Philips global design and engineering excellence.
Youre the right fit if you
- Hold a Bachelors or Masters degreein Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or Industrial Design Engineering.
- Bring 38 years of hands-on product development experience ideally in consumer or medical products.
- Are proficient with CAD tools(Creo SolidWorks or similar) and comfortable reviewing or modifying designs.
- Understand plastic part design tolerance and manufacturability (DFM/DFS).
- Enjoy building testing and optimizing prototypesto validate new functions.
- Have experience working with suppliers understanding how to guide tooling materials and prototype builds.
- Possess some project coordination experience(e.g. managing small projects supplier follow-up or planning activities).
- Communicate confidently in English and Mandarin both technically and across cultures.
- Are proactive curious and self-driven eager to grow into a role that blends engineering coordination and innovation.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams this means working in-person at least 4 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the companys facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the companys main facilities generally at the customers or suppliers locations.
