The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures the highest standards of cleanliness comfort and safety for all guests and members adhering to Orient Express standards. This role involves leading the housekeeping team overseeing daily operations inspecting rooms and public areas and addressing guest and colleague concerns promptly and professionally.
Key responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Quality Assurance:
- Supervise daily operations of Room Attendants Turndown Attendants and House Attendants managing tasks and priorities.
- Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms public areas and team setups to ensure impeccable cleanliness and presentation.
- Ensure service delivery meets brand SOPs local hotel standards and LQA requirements actively addressing guest feedback.
Team Management & Development:
- Lead train and coach team members on service standards and cleaning techniques fostering a positive work environment.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments through briefings and clear reporting.
Compliance Safety & Resource Management:
- Ensure strict adherence to Orient Express operational standards health safety and security policies.
- Promptly report and follow up on any maintenance issues safety concerns or discrepancies.
- Oversee the proper use and control of cleaning supplies equipment linen and lost and found items.
Flexibility & Support:
- Stay informed about all hotel services and events to assist guests and colleagues effectively.
- Be prepared to perform duties of Room Attendants or House Attendants as operational needs dictate.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by management to support departmental goals.
Qualifications :
- Higher education in Hospitality Management.
- A minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience is required including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity preferably within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Fluent in Italian and in English.
- Strong technical housekeeping skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities within their scope demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in cleanliness and presentation.
- Reliable self-directed proactive highly organized and capable of working independently and effectively under pressure.
