The Fielding Technician is 100% fielding supporting our clients within our Communications team.
The Design Technician (Fielding) is responsible for acquiring and interpreting technical documents related to telecommunication operations as well as modifying and updating data within the utility data system based on the documentation provided. Duties include conducting site visits to telecommunication facilities performing GPS surveys collecting overhead and underground data carrying out inspections and maintaining accurate records. Proficiency in right-of-way (ROW) regulations and general constructability considerations is required. The Technician collaborates with various utility operation departments and operates under the supervision and guidance of Direct Supervisors and Management to ensure adherence to industry standards.
What Youll Do:
- Meets and exceeds established productivity and quality targets. Is mindful of project timelines and budget constraints.
- Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications are timely and in an appropriate format for the topic.
- Completes fielding and design for associated utility design projects. Tasks include but are not limited to data collection design attributes and coordinating with client staff.
- Managing multiple tasks to ensure timely successful completion of projects resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction and company/departmental goal achievements.
- Performs accurate updates/additions of new data In the event of any changes to our scope of work.
- Identifies errors on source material and/or client data records and informs appropriate project members of resolution assistance required.
- Coordinates projects to accomplish timely construction and meet client needs
- Learns and incorporates company safety rules and policies company design standards and governing authority regulations into daily work and designs. Designs will meet all requirements of applicable company safety standards company distribution construction standards and governing authority regulations
- Self-checks work assignments prior to submitting for review completes work with minimal errors. Participates in peer reviews and QC reviews.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Role will be in the field 100% of the time
- Travel will be required; rotating shift
Required Qualifications:
- Entry level position: desire to learn and work in a technical field.
- Ability work outside year-round and walk for extended periods of time.
- A valid drivers license is required for this role.
- Prior experience in GIS telecommunications construction utility pipeline industry preferred
