Position Summary:
Utilizes the nursing process under the direction of the RN to provide patient care according to the established policies procedures and guidelines of the department and hospital. Has knowledge of the clinical interventions and equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served.
Unit Specific Accountabilities:
Assists in patient assessment according to the nursing process and documents appropriately.
Administers and documents medications.
Perform patient treatments and assist with procedures.
Assists and participates in the implementation and evaluation of the plan of care/pathway.
Provides patient education.
Reports untoward symptoms or unusual occurrences to RN.
Exercises informed judgment act competently assumes responsibility and accountability for actions patient care and outcomes.
Directs and supervises unlicensed assistive healthcare providers in delivering patient care.
Participates in quality improvement activities and patient safety; assists in maintaining compliance with The Joint Commission accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards.
Maintains positive behaviors approaches attitude and commitment to interpersonal services toward patients visitors and/or co-workers. Promotes teamwork and collaborative culture. Serves as role model for the organizations Behavior Based Standards initiatives.
Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all HDH Corporate Compliance Program initiatives and standards.
Responsible for compliance with HDH safety standards policies and procedures.
Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN program with current licensure to practice as a Licensed Pra ctical Nurse in the State of Ohio. Desire to become an RN highly desired and consideration will be given to applicants wanting to further their education and licensure type in the Nursing field.
