This position is an essential part of the team and will have exposure to several aspects of running a Forestry Field Office.
As a 2026 Forestry Field Office Internship - Emerging Talent Summer Experience Program intern within the Campbell Global LLC team you will engage in a variety of projects and tasks designed to promote growth and offer a thorough introduction to the field. You will work alongside professional foresters to actively manage forestland under Campbell Globals stewardship. Our internships are structured to expose you to a range of skills and improve your proficiency across multiple forestry disciplines and responsibilities. This program provides a fixed-term hands-on experience requiring your full-time availability from early June 2025 for up to 9 weeks.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist with harvest unit layout planning and administration.
- Assist with silviculture planning and administration.
- Effectively utilize current technologies including GIS GPS drone flight operations etc.
- Assist with timber cruising auditing and regeneration surveys.
- Assist with road construction and maintenance.
- Assist with various ESG initiatives.
- Assist with recreational management activities.
- Ensure that environmental or financial risk reporting is conducted in a timely and professional manner to the Manager and if appropriate local Safety Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills:
- Current enrolment in an accredited College or University working toward an Associate or Bachelors Degree in Forestry or a related degree with a concentration in Forestry.
- Basic knowledge of forestry forest silviculture forest inventory harvesting techniques and GPS.
- Basic proficiency in MS applications including Outlook Word and Excel.
- Strong written oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently.
- Must have a valid drivers license with clear driving record and personal transportation to/from Campbell Globals field office.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in steep brushy terrain for long periods of time.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:
- Previous forestry experience desired but not required.
- Completion of Forest Measurements or equivalent class desired.
We will be filling our classes on a rolling basis. We strongly encourage you to submit your application as early as possible before job postings close.
