Pay:Starting at $18.06/hour(includes a $1.00 2nd shift premium)

Gordon Food Service takes pride in delivering seamless order processing and delivery to our customers and our warehouse staff is the backbone of our success. As a custodian youll support our team by maintaining the buildings to ensure clean organized operations. You will alsosweep mop scrubvacuum emptythetrashclear snow and maintain the landscaping. You canexpect to work in extreme temperatures (-25F to 100F) in the distribution center.Theres no experience required - well train you how to get the job done!

You must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work holidays weekends and overtime as needed - holidays are very important to our customers!
We have frozen products - your ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions(-25F to 100F) is required while youre here.
Must be able to read write and communicate in English (to read labels pick lists scanners signage company website information related to benefits updates complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions).
Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background check.

Position Summary:

Maintains buildings in clean and orderly condition. With an assigned working area within the freezer temperature zone.

Essential Functions:

Maintains the facility and associated paperwork to meet AIB and other food safety standards.
Sweeps mops scrubs and vacuums; may include hallways stairs and office space within the distribution center.
Empties trash and garbage containers and cleans snow and debris from walkways.
Performs inspections of equipment and reports findings.
Mows lawn trims shrubbery and cultivates flower.
May remove charge transport and install hi-lo (forklift) batteries in the warehouse.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells alarms and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up movement or approach of equipment (including forklifts turrets overhead cranes conveyors trucks and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse) mechanical abnormalities and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
Ability to read write and communicate in English
Ability to read and understand information on a Material Safety Data Sheet and adhere to safety regulations and procedures
Ability to work in a Freezer environment (Custodian Freezer)
Ability to work independently and within team environment
Must be able to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV) vacuum cleaner lawn mower gardening tools and other various types of equipment.
Must have basic computer skills utilizing windows/Google G-suite based software.

Educational & Experience Requirements

Certification or License
