Job Summary
Must have 25 years of experience in heavy industrial mining lime or cement environments.
Jr Project Engineer supports capital improvement projects and plant modernization initiatives across our operations. This full-time salaried position is a key developmental role designed to build future engineering leadership within the company. The Jr Project Engineer will work closely with the corporate engineering team and plant leadership to plan execute and deliver Capex projects that improve safety efficiency and performance.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or process engineering background exceptional organizational skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in industrial environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter looking to grow into a senior engineering role.Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering & Support
- Assist in the planning execution and closeout of capital projects across multiple facilities.
- Develop project scopes budgets and schedules in coordination with plant and corporate teams.
- Support installation commissioning and startup of new equipment and systems.
- Conduct field evaluations and verify existing conditions to support design activities.
- Work with plant operations and maintenance to troubleshoot mechanical and process issues.
- Support data collection process audits and technical evaluations of system performance.
- Provide engineering input for equipment selection layout and optimization.
- Assist in developing and updating SOPs and technical documentation.
- Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to ensure quality cost and schedule alignment.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings equipment manuals and installation specs.
- Oversee on-site project work to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Promote and support a culture of safety across all project work.
- Ensure all project activities are conducted in accordance with MSHA OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Participate in hazard reviews permitting and safety documentation preparation.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
- 25 years of experience in industrial mining lime or cement environments.
- Familiarity with project engineering Capex planning and process systems.
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude; hands-on approach required.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Proficient with MS Office AutoCAD or SolidWorks and project management tools.
- Ability to travel to plant sites 50% travel.
