Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing. This role requires at least one year of experience though first-timers are welcome to apply. The phlebotomist must be available for on-call duties and additional weekend coverage as needed.
Location:Apple Valley California United States
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate phlebotomy techniques.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Perform any other related duties (e.g. clerical technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification
- CPT I (CA) certification
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- N/A
Special Considerations:
- On-call required
- Scheduled for additional weekend coverage as needed
- 50-mile radius restriction
Scheduling:
- 5x8 hour shifts
- Schedule determined as needed
