The College is seeking one (1) Asset Technician who will be responsible for management of the physical assets at Madison Colleges Technology Services hardware depot. Responsibilities of the position include tracking orders within the asset management system assigning identification numbers and barcode tags to each item upon delivery and scheduling the distribution and installation of orders. The individual in this position will be responsible for maintaining a constant inventory of CPUs printers monitors docks cables and all other associated repair and replacement parts and pieces. This position will assist in the maintenance of the district-wide strategy for replacing outdated hardware and software across all campus locations. The person in this position will be responsible for effectively managing and documenting the process of distribution and tracking of District assets.
This position participates in the allocation setup and implementation of hardware software and ancillary devices throughout the district. This position follows policies and monitors technology assets in accordance with IT policies and standards and laws and regulations. Position will aide in responding to incident tickets / hardware maintenance requests and replacement of dysfunctional equipment. The person in this position will aide in effectively managing and documenting the process of distribution and tracking of District assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provides inventory management services for Technology Services assets throughout the Madison College District.
- Maintains an inventory management system for accurate tracking of all District technology assets.
- Maintains a consistent supply of hardware to include repair/replacement parts CPUs printers monitors cables docks and all other equipment necessary to maintain the efficient technological functioning of all District locations.
- Maintains an orderly and organized storage system for all technology services assets.
- Organizes and facilitates the removal of technology services assets from inventory.
- Maintains the order tracking system for all inbound technology services assets.
- Receives inbound shipments and assigns unique identification numbers to each item. Creates and affixes I.D. tag and bar code to all District assets.
- Enters unique I.D. tracking numbers into inventory management system along with other pertinent use information.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Technology Services support products and services.
- Maintains a strong knowledge of the incident management system and reporting functionality.

- Ability to climb a 12-ft. ladder while carrying and/or installing or troubleshooting equipment (i.e. projectors bulbs etc.)

- Identify all parties (stakeholders).
- Perform the necessary root-cause analysis.
- Maintain on-going operational/production support including monitoring.
- Perform periodic reviews of the process and provide feedback.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years (4000 hours) related work experience to include one year (2000 hours) work experience performing asset management duties in a medium to large work environment (500-2000 workstations).
- Demonstrated technical competence in a customer support environment maintenance procedures and system capabilities and limitations.
