Job Summary
description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking professional and supervisory discretion and independent unit provides antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal care for maternity patients and normal newborns. Gynecology patients are excluded. Note that this department does include labor and delivery. Education and Work Experience:Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN): PreferredAcute care facility experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: RequiredDepartment Specific License/Certifications:Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP): RequiredS.T.A.B.L.E Certification (STABLE): RequiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or RQIACLS or Healthstream Advanced Cardiac Life Support (HS-ACLS): RequiredFetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required.
