Job Summary:
The client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in the design and analysis of static mechanical parts for RF and telecommunication equipment. The role involves developing robust enclosures housings and thermal management systems for electronic assemblies used in high-frequency communication devices. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of thermal behavior mechanical integrity and manufacturability of precision components used in RF modules
Key Responsibilities:
* Design static mechanical components such as RF enclosures chassis brackets and heat-dissipating structures for communication systems.
* Perform thermal and structural analyses to ensure optimal heat dissipation dimensional stability and structural integrity under varying environmental conditions.
* Work closely with RF PCB and electrical engineers to integrate mechanical designs with high-frequency electronic systems.
* Develop 3D CAD models 2D detailed drawings and bills of materials (BOM) using tools such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
* Select appropriate materials and coatings (e.g. aluminum alloys copper conductive coatings) to ensure optimal RF shielding heat transfer and manufacturability.
* Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility for CNC machining sheet metal fabrication or die casting.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental requirements (e.g. MIL-STD IEC IP and thermal cycling).
* Support prototype assembly testing and validation of RF and telecommunication hardware.
* Prepare engineering reports test documentation and maintain revision control for design updates.
Salary: $90000 - $110000
Technical Expertise:
* Proficiency in CAD design -Fusion 360 and AutoCAD.
* Experience with thermal management and mechanical simulation tools.
* Strong knowledge of heat transfer thermodynamics and vibration analysis.
* Familiarity with RF shielding EMC/EMI design considerations and electronic packaging.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes including precision machining die casting and sheet metal.
Experience & Education:
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 3-7 years in mechanical design for RF electronics or telecommunication products.
Soft Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
* Excellent communication and teamwork.
* Attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy.
* Must be a self starter
