Job Summary:
The Student Assistant Manager Office & Social Media Operations serves in a leadership capacity within the Registrars Office supporting daily operations while overseeing key projects and initiatives. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service maintaining accurate records and coordinating communications across addition to managing the development and execution of social media content and educational materials the Student Assistant Manager provides peer support by mentoring student staff fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in service delivery. The position also involves supervising project timelines delegating tasks and contributing to strategic planning efforts that enhance student faculty and staff engagement.
Essential Duties: Office Operations & Customer Service
- Provide clear interpretation of College policies and procedures to faculty staff students parents and administrators.
- Deliver excellent customer service at the front counter and via phone.
- File processed paperwork into student records and maintain the filing system.
- Support diploma cover preparation for Commencement.
- Assist Registrar staff with special projects throughout the year.
- Work alongside professional staff members to complete day-to-day operations and long-term projects.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and maintain confidentiality of all projects and content.
- Other duties as assigned.
Project Oversight
- Lead and manage office-based and digital communication projects from planning to execution.
- Monitor progress set deadlines and ensure deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with professional staff to align projects with departmental goals.
Peer Support & Team Leadership
- Serve as a peer coach for new student employees providing support and answering general questions.
- Mentor and train new student assistants.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Provide guidance and feedback to ensure high performance and accountability.
Social Media & Communications
- Create and manage content for platforms such as Twitter Instagram and YouTube.
- Lead the creative process with the team to develop engaging posts campaigns and updates.
- Tailor content to the appropriate platform and audience.
- Monitor analytics and provide statistical insights to improve reach and engagement.
Educational Content Creation
- Develop and update tutorials and video content for the Registrars website.
- Produce instructional videos digital guides and other educational materials.
- Ensure content is accessible accurate and aligned with institutional branding.
- Collaborate with departments to identify communication needs and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student in good academic standing.
- Familiarity with FERPA and ability to interpret its provisions.
- Previous experience in office administration customer service or communications preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in social media platforms and basic video editing tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
- Creative detail-oriented enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Possess knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks independently and accurately.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with student information systems or CRM platforms.
- Experience with Canva Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content.
- Collaborative mindset and proactive problem-solving abilities.
