Are you organised detail-focused and passionate about great food Our client a leading fine food distributor is seeking a Stock Controller & Purchasing Assistant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in stock management purchasing or supply chain who wants to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of operations.
The Role:
Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure product availability and minimise waste
Support the purchasing team with supplier orders price checks and product sourcing
Manage regular stock counts reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Build strong relationships with suppliers negotiating best value on pricing and terms
Liaise with warehouse and sales teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
Assist with new product introductions and seasonal range planning
Maintain accurate records on the internal stock and purchasing system
About You:
Previous experience in stock control inventory management or purchasing (food industry experience desirable)
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and stock management/ERP systems
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Passion for fine food and excellent customer service
