Company Overview
A leading FinTech organization cashless payments in Japan offering innovative and convenient credit services integrated with a major digital payment platform.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day database operations including monitoring configuration upgrades scaling backups and data migrations.
Continuously improve database operations through automation tooling and process optimization.
Manage backups replication failover and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable data models and optimize query performance.
Research test and adopt emerging technologies in the database and cloud ecosystem to enhance platform capabilities.
Create and maintain documentation for architecture standard procedures and operational best practices to support effective knowledge sharing and decision-making.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability availability and scalability of database infrastructure.
Experience and Qualifications
More than 5 years of DBA experience with a minimum of 3 years ORACLE or MySQL experience
More than 3 years of AWS experience
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Interested in new technologies and willing to improve operational quality and efficiency
Strong scripting skills (Python Shell etc.) for automation and tooling.

Databases: Oracle MySQL (including Aurora MySQL and RDS for Oracle)
Cloud: AWS (RDS Aurora EC2 S3 lambda Secrets Manager Cloudwatch etc.)
Tools: GitHub Terraform Flyway
Collaboration: Slack Zoom Jira Confluence Miro
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automating operations related to Database or AWS
Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker Kubernetes).
Hands-on experience in operating AWS Aurora database (Postgres/Mysql compatible)
Hands-on experience in operating AWS RDS for ORACLE
Japanese conversational proficiency is a plus
