Position Summary
Bow Valley Colleges School of Health and Wellness is seeking an Instructor Interdisciplinary Therapy- Speech Language Pathologist to support high-quality learning experiences for students preparing to enter the health-care this role the Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging instruction across a variety of formats including face-to-face online blended environments synchronous delivery via Microsoft Teams and workplace-based learning.
The successful candidate will design and develop curriculum and instructional materials create lesson plans and apply diverse instructional strategies that address learner needs while ensuring alignment with course and program learning outcomes. This position also plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders by staying current with best practices adapting curriculum as required participating in articulation and transfer activities and representing the program through recruitment events community meetings Advisory Committees and industry engagement.
The Instructor will support learner success by providing ongoing assessment and feedback maintaining required records addressing attendance conduct and performance issues and ensuring student accommodations are met in accordance with individualized accommodation plans. Additional responsibilities include supporting scholarships and bursaries participating in orientation and graduation activities and fostering strong connections with employers of Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistants.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Speech Language Pathology or an equivalent degree possess at least five years of relevant Speech Language Pathologist experience be a registered member of the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and be able to work to full scope of practice. A police information check with a vulnerable sector screening is required. An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience curriculum development experience established industry relationships and a strong understanding of the role of the Therapy Assistant.
