Job Title: Camera Software Developer (Linux C / Python Motion Control)
Location: Phoenix AZ (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
Were seeking a highly technical Camera Software Developer to support advanced imaging streaming and motion-control systems. This role spans aero-facing camera software in C Python/GStreamer development for video pipelines and contributions to existing projects that require cleanup refactoring and branching. Candidates should be experienced working in Linux environments and capable of building real-time high-performance imaging software that relies on modern codecs such as H.265.
What Youll Do
- Develop maintain and optimize Linux-based C camera software for aero imaging systems.
- Build and refine video streaming pipelines using Python and GStreamer with a focus on H.265 (HEVC) rather than H.264.
- Support motion-control components involved in camera operation and system positioning.
- Work through existing codebases that require cleanup re-organization branching and stability improvements.
- Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning across camera drivers imaging pipelines and real-time streaming components.
- Contribute to light embedded work when needed (but less than a dedicated firmware developer).
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure smooth integration across hardware software and platform components.
What You Bring
- Strong Linux C development experience.
- Proficiency in Python including building or modifying GStreamer pipelines.
- Familiarity with H.265 (HEVC) video processing encoding and streaming.
- Understanding of motion-control concepts and their relationship to imaging systems.
- Ability to debug complex performance-sensitive imaging and streaming workflows.
- Experience working in or around embedded environments (not full firmware-level but hardware-aware).
- Experience with camera sensors SDKs or hardware-level video systems.
- Educational background in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the following industries is beneficial but not required: Aerospace Automative Defense
