Job Summary/Description:

Are you ready to cover everything from tornadoes and severe weather to snow and everything in between on Lubbocks dominant legacy station KCBD NewsChannel 11 KCBD has an opening for a meteorologist position.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Be a team player
- Analyze raw data observations guidance and other inputs to create an accurate forecast
- Prepare and deliver creative compelling forecasts on-air and on digital platforms
- Cover severe weather as it happens on TV and on digital
- Help develop graphics produce weathercasts and assist other members of the weather team

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Empathy for others. A team-builder with a dedication to collaboration and getting it right.
- Degree or certificate in meteorology or related science
- Strong communication skills to deliver the weather forecast in a simple easy-to-understand way
- Understanding of how to effectively deliver weather on TV digital and social media
- Must work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to represent the station professionally in the community and newsroom
- Valid drivers license and excellent driving record
