Responsible for leading the Body and Chassis Engineering sub-functions
Job Purpose:
To define and lead the Body & Chassis engineering strategy ensuring all systems components and attributes achieve programme product and business objectives. This role provides the technical and organisational leadership required to deliver innovative world-class solutions across multiple vehicle lines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Chief Technology Officer you will be a member of the Engineering leadership team and with your senior colleagues support the creation and execution of the overall Engineering functional strategy. You will take this functional strategy and develop the business plan over the short mid and long term for your area. You will set the framework and standards and lead the delivery of these plans through your team as follows:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and communicate the long-term technical roadmaps for Body & Chassis systems aligned with business objectives and cross-functional requirements.
- Programme Delivery: Lead simultaneous engineering teams to achieve programme targets in quality cost and delivery (QCD) ensuring robust technical solutions and seamless execution.
- People management: Build grow and mentor a high-performing team to meet both current and future business needs by
- Providing leadership mentorship and guidance to a team of x y & z fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Setting clear goals and objectives for the Body & Chassis Engineering team ensuring alignment with overall company vision and project timelines.
- Ensuring structure resource and capability in the existing team with a view to developing and empowering the team to be high performing and technically skilled. Ensure resources are allocated effectively including headcount budget and technology to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Facilitating cross-functional collaboration encouraging open communication and idea-sharing among design engineering and production teams.

- Resource Strategy: Establish and implement a resource delivery strategy balancing in-house expertise with external partnerships. Identify select and manage engineering partners and outsourcing activities to ensure the highest standards of technical delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the key technical interface between engineering design manufacturing and commercial functions ensuring integrated solutions that meet performance legal and customer targets.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation in design materials and processes while embedding continuous improvement practices to enhance efficiency and technical excellence.

Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Proven track record in leading Body & Chassis engineering at a senior level preferably within the automotive or high-performance luxury sector.
- Strong technical expertise across Body and Chassis engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex programmes within demanding cost timing and quality constraints.
Preferred:
- Automotive or high-performance luxury sector experience
