Mater Education is looking for an Educator to join the team in Townsville. Supporting our Diploma of Nursing this role is based at the Mater Private Hospital Townsville campus.

Permanent full-time / part-time casual positions available.

What youll be doing

The RTO Educator will deliver and assess education and training within the Registered Training Organisation. You will be responsible for student management and accountable for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes for students within the organisation aligned to our mission and values.

You will support students within the classroom simulated labs workplace and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement progression and success.

• Utilise flexible blended and inclusive learning techniques options and products which are responsive to various student cohorts including commencing students and those with priority needs.
• Learn how to design develop implement and evaluate teaching and learning resources assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards (i.e. endorsed components from National Training Packages).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment provided to students.
• Assist in delivery of certificate programs on campus which may include school-based students. Students attend one day a week to undertake a certificate qualification at Mater Education.
• Contribute to a number of Vocational Education Training in Schools (VETiS) cohorts at various locations including local schools within the Townsville region.
• Develop effective working relationships with students client groups and staff by participating in team meetings student events and forums inviting feedback and engaging in reflection.
• Ensure that students adopt and practise accepted safety procedures and sustainability in the learning and assessment environment.
• Contribute to planning design development implementation and review of educational programs.
• Manage assessment of student competence throughout the course providing sufficient constructive feedback to promote positive outcomes
• Participate in relevant professional learning activities to develop and maintain currency of personal and professional skills knowledge and attitudes for both industry and learning teaching and assessment.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings open days expos and information sessions as required
• Undertake general administration duties including marking monitoring of student attendance and progression facilitating access to educational support and providing effective feedback and advice.

About you

To be considered for this role successful applicants will have:

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and experience working within an RTO environment
• Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements
• Ability to effectively manage and apply key conflict resolution skills in the student environment
• Enthusiastic and engaging individual who is highly knowledgeable in the relevant industry
• Strong adherence and acknowledgment of Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
• Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team

Qualifications and Experience

• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
• Valid Working with Children Card (BlueCard) or eligible to apply for Blue Card
• Current Drivers Licence
• Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
