Summary:
The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the efforts of the hourly production employees focusing on driving safety quality and productivity. They ensure that product specifications are met with a high standard of quality. They are responsible to make sure compliance is met with all standards policies regulations for the safe environmentally sound production of a quality product.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for meeting plant and company objectives.
- Perform day-to-day operations on the production floor with constant emphasis on safety quality delivery and cost.
- Provide leadership management and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention
- Develop implement and enforce operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue
- Run production lines and machines when employees are absent or the plant is shorthanded with workers.
- Assuring conformance of finished product to company industry and customer specifications at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
- Directing teaching coaching and training of production employees.
- Responsible for maintaining shop floor metrics visual controls and continuous improvement methods to the manufacturing floor.
- Supervision of production associates including performance reviews onboarding discipline and terminations.
- Hire new employees as needed
- Monitoring and administering attendance and vacation.
- Ability to function in a fast paced dynamic environment.
- Having in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and improvement processes.
- Ability to effectively implement change.
- Possessing knowledge of safety health and environmental rules laws requirements and applicable Signode policies.
- Other duties as assigned by plant manager.
Qualifications :
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Experience:
- 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 1 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform this positions key responsibilities.
