About Us:

VUs College of Sport Health and Engineering is home to one of Australias largest programs in sport exercise and health science. It also includes a comprehensive built environment and engineering program that complements these efforts by focusing on sustainable construction innovative infrastructure and solutions that promote community well-being and address environmental needs. Our curriculum is developed in collaboration with industry and is informed by world-class research equipping graduates with the practical skills and confidence needed to achieve their career goals in the health sport or built environment and engineering sectors.

About the Role:

The College is seeking to fill the role of Associate Professor in Built Environment. As the Associate Professor you will provide academic leadership across teaching research and service contributing to the strategic development of the Construction Management discipline. You will play a key role in shaping undergraduate and postgraduate programs mentoring emerging academics and researchers and leading impactful research that addresses critical challenges in the built environment particularly in sustainable construction digital transformation and circular economy practices.

You will also engage with industry partners and research collaborators to translate innovative ideas into practice and strengthen the national and international reputation of VU in construction research and education.

This is a full-time continuing appointment (36.75 hours per week) at the classification of Academic Level D salary range of $161351$177756 plus 17% superannuation. Working at our Footcray Park campus collaborating with our passionate teaching and professional staff.

About You:

We are seeking a passionate academic leader with a PhD in Construction Management Civil Engineering or a related discipline and a strong record of scholarly achievement. You will have demonstrated expertise in sustainability digitalisation or advanced construction technologies and a history of attracting research funding publishing in high-quality journals and supervising HDR students to completion.

Your leadership in teaching innovation including curriculum design and assessment aligned with accreditation and industry needs will complement your research excellence. You will be a collegial collaborator with the ability to inspire students foster industry partnerships and contribute to the universitys mission of creating impact through transformative education and applied research.
