You are the dynamic professional Full time 12pm - 9pm Admissions RN we are looking for at River Bend Hospital West Lafayette this opportunity you will be of the multidisciplinary psychiatric team responsible for organizing and completing admissions on the inpatient unit as well as functioning as a staff nurse on the unit as needed

Admissions RN Key Responsibilities:
- Provides intake assessment and completes all admission paperwork including for walk-ins providing coordination with business office and utilization review to ensure that all necessary information is obtained; Assists with all admissions.
- Will rotate on call after-hours screening for admission requests; will provide alternate weekend coverage.
- Provides crisis intervention for and evaluation of walk-in emergencies including gathering information about appropriateness for admission or other appropriate disposition.
- May interview collateral for assessment information in person or on telephone.
- Coordinates discharge planning and outpatient referrals. Discusses the referral with the client as well as utilizing community and personal supports and resources.
- Willing to be flexible with hours and shifts for departmental coverage; will staff unit as needed for RN coverage.
- Maintains commitment information in the medical record.
- Enters chart notes in a timely manner and consistent with Treatment Plan objectives.
- Deals positively with patient and family requests.
- Referrals to other services including state-operated facilities.
- Maintains professional boundaries.
- Works extensively with Valley Oaks hospitals and other community services for referrals and exchange of information.
- Meets with assigned supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision as needed.
- Demonstrates good time management skills including the ability to structure time prioritize activities and be self-motivated.
- Works well with staff of other agencies and with colleagues.
- Effectively works as a member of the treatment team.
- Attends team meetings and staffing as needed.
- Maintains patient records in accordance with hospital standards.
- Continues professional growth and development through participation in workshops professional groups and in-services.
- Works closely with physicians and other providers for referrals.
- Assists with discharges.
- Completes chart audits on daily basis.
- Manages Teams page.
- Meets competencies and requirements of the Registered Nurse job description.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
We are seeking Admissions RN candidates with the following qualities:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Indiana required.
- Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing experience desirable.
- Able to achieve the required competencies or privileges with Meridian Health Services/River Bend Hospital.
- Meets pre-hire competency and reference requirements.
- CPR certification preferred.
