Days: Monday Friday 8 hours per day
Shift (Flexible): 7:00 AM 3:00 PM 8:00 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $60 to $63/hr
Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Compliance (QAPI):
Implement and monitor facility-wide policies and procedures based on nursing home regulations evidence-based practices and audits.
Gather and analyze data through audits interviews and other activities to monitor compliance across departments and services.
Review monthly CASPER (Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reporting) data to develop and lead QAPI PIPs (Performance Improvement Plans).
Prepare and distribute statistical reports data summaries and written information to staff regarding QAPI activities and compliance status.
Assist supervisors and managers in developing and implementing effective corrective action plans.
Monitor and report on the facilitys progress in correcting deficiencies identified by surveying agencies.
Ensure facility policies and procedures are current consistent with practices and compliant with regulations.
Collaborate with the Administrator in investigating alleged incidents of abuse neglect or mistreatment of residents.
Coordinate facility-wide preparation activities for regulatory surveys.
Chair and coordinate the internal Quality Assurance Committee meetings.
Infection Prevention:
Chair and coordinate the Infection Control Committee meetings.
Perform daily infection control surveillance rounds to ensure staff compliance with individual care plans for residents with infections.
Systematically track and trend infections using both McGeer and non-McGeer criteria.
Maintain current knowledge of infection prevention standards and guidelines from CMS and CDC.
Staff Education:
Identify staff training needs related to quality assurance and compliance.
Develop and implement targeted educational programs for staff based on compliance requirements and performance gaps.
Evaluate the quality of training and ensure staff are adequately skilled to meet desired outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to track staff training and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
Licensure: Current active RN license in Arizona (REQUIRED)
Certification: Infection Preventionist Certification (REQUIRED)
Clearance: Valid DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (REQUIRED)
Experience: Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance Compliance and/or Infection Prevention in long-term care or healthcare settings
Mobility: Valid AZ Drivers License for in-state travel
Knowledge: OBRA nursing home regulations QAPI principles basic statistical methods and adult learning/instruction techniques
