The Nursery Teacher will lead high-quality nursery provision develop stimulating indoor and outdoor environments and work closely with families to support childrens early development. The Nursery Teacher will also ensure accurate observations inform planning and that smooth transitions into Reception are carefully managed.
The successful Nursery Teacher will join a warm team and benefit from strong professional development and excellent early-years facilities in Watford. Induction activities will take place ahead of January 2026 enabling the Nursery Teacher to prepare for a successful spring term start.
Responsibilities
- Lead play-based sessions that develop communication physical and personal skills.
- Observe childrens learning keep learning records and use evidence to inform planning.
- Support families lead transition activities and work with the Reception team to ensure continuity.
- Manage daily routines safeguarding procedures and collaborative planning with colleagues.
- Contribute to the schools wider EYFS strategy and improvement priorities.
Person specification
- Relevant early-years qualifications and experience leading nursery provision.
- Strong assessment observation and planning skills.
- Warm organised and responsive practitioner ready to start January 2026.
- Comfortable working in Watford and engaging with the local community.
