Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are currently accepting applications/resumes for an EXPERIENCED Mechanic for the Morgan City LA and surrounding areas. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

• Position Requirements:
  • Technical school education is a plus but high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to pass physical
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Must be able to pass background check
• Required Skills:
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic experience preferred but not necessary
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Diagnostic skills
  • Wide knowledge base
  • MUST be able to use hand tools efficiently
• Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ideal candidate will be working on equipment
  • Ideal candidate willinspect keep up and repairdieselengines for company vehicle/equipment
  • Ideal Candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance such as changing oil checking batteries and lubricating equipment and parts
  • Follow a checklist of inspection procedures
  • Must be able tounderstand the vehicles electrical system engine and all of its working parts.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Test drive vehicles/equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Test-drive vehicles/equipment to ensure that they run smoothly
  • Maintain the work area clean safe and organized.
    • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
    • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
  • Understand safety precautions associated with working in trenches and trench boxes.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
  • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
  • Report safety hazards quality and production issues to management immediately
• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Must have good endurance
  • Will be required to bend stoop squat crouch kneel and crawl to perform task
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
• Documents Required:
  • Drivers License/Identification Card
  • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass drug screen
• Must be able to provide own PPE (hard hat steel toes safety glasses gloves)
• Pay:
  • Starting at $30.00-$40.00 (DOE)
  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)
    • 10-12 hour days (with weather permitting)
• Duration of Job: Temp to hire
