Purpose

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team in Canada. This role ensures effective management and administration of project contracts from initiation through closeout safeguarding compliance with company policies and client requirements. It drives strategic planning risk assessment and negotiation of complex contractual issues while fostering collaboration across engineering construction and client teams. By providing technical guidance overseeing contract execution and maintaining accurate documentation the position supports project success mitigates risk and strengthens client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract activity for clients on projects including travel to customer offices or project sites before contract approval or during contract execution.
  • Participate in strategic project planning (risk assessment bid/no bid analysis business planning).
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of contract administration by assigned Contract Administrators.
  • Coordinate with affected groups for contract administration proposal preparation and negotiations.
  • Review requests for proposals to identify risks and non-conforming terms.
  • Negotiate complex or sensitive issues with customer management.
  • Make staffing recommendations offer training review work produced and conduct performance evaluations and counseling.
  • Pre-qualify and prepare lists of bidders; receive and evaluate bids; prepare contracts and bid documents.
  • Interview contractors and potential contractors making appropriate recommendations.
  • Prepare commercial summaries and letters of recommendation post awards administer contracts (correspondence progress minutes filing change management performance measurement) monitor contractor performance and conformance to commercial terms and approve progress invoices.
  • Communicate with customers to secure approvals per established procedures.
  • Interact with engineering and construction departments to comply with terms revisions and amendments.
  • Participate in contract termination claims or dispute settlements; conduct close-out reviews and process back changes.
  • May serve as an individual contributor or supervise a small work unit within own discipline or related area.
  • Provide technical guidance to co-workers and determine training and development needs of employees.
