Job Summary
This position provides technical lab support to faculty and students in cellular and molecular biology and immunology research laboratory in the Department of Translational Research by performing a variety of routine and moderately complex laboratory and research-related responsibilities. The Laboratory Technician II works independently reporting directly to the assigned faculty. Cellular and Molecular biology experiments include but are not limited to Cell isolation and culture Western blotting qPCR histopathology including cutting thin sections immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. Taking care of rats in animal facilities and conducting experiments on rats and collecting tissues at completion of experiments.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Biology Molecular Biology or related field. A combination of undergraduate coursework and related experience may be considered. Experience: One to two-year experience with working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols in cell culture and laboratory techniques ( DNA extraction PCR histology immunostaining) and familiarity with laboratory safety and proper storage of various types of reagents and chemicals are highly desirable. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
