Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations to ensure safe efficient and high-quality output across all production lines. This role manages a large team maintains strict compliance with GMP Food Defense and company policies and ensures production goals are consistently met. The supervisor works closely with Production Management Supply Chain and Quality to support continuous improvement team development and operational excellence.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00/hr

Shift: 3:30 pm - 12:30 am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Quality

  • Oversee all aspects of production and quality across all production lines.
  • Ensure required production rates are met while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Perform regular quality audits and verify employee compliance with all quality procedures.
  • Manage Quality Holds Rejects and Returns; communicate all issues to Supply Chain.
  • Document all downtime on production lines.

Safety Compliance & Audits

  • Enforce company policies GMP rules and Food Defense protocols.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and complete required documentation.
  • Participate in AIB and internal audits/inspections.
  • Execute corrective action plans for any audit findings.
  • Maintain a safe clean work environment and train staff on safe equipment use.

Team Leadership & Staffing

  • Supervise a shift of 65 employees.
  • Train new hires and coordinate staffing needs with the staffing agency.
  • Provide daily coaching guidance and task support to employees.
  • Administer counseling and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set employee goals.
  • Create and update employee schedules including overtime or mandatory workdays.
  • Reassign employees between lines as needed to improve workflow and throughput.

Operational Coordination

  • Work closely with the Production Manager and Supply Chain Manager to meet production goals.
  • Communicate material and product needs with Shipping/Receiving.
  • Manage department labor productivity and oversee overall labor usage.
  • Properly manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and train employees on correct usage.
  • Manage daily employee hours and prepare weekly timecards for payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS

General

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Works well independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism when interacting with customers vendors and sales reps.
  • Effective time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Willing to work additional hours as needed.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of the paper/allied products industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with general office equipment.

Computer Skills

  • Able to use Windows-based PC software.
  • Basic typing and 10-key calculator proficiency.
  • Basic internet knowledge.

Math Language & Reasoning Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make accurate quick decisions.

Certificates & Licenses

  • None required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Nonclimate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Requires standing or walking for 810 hours at a time.
