Serco supports the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where every day is Earth Day. Our skilled scientists collaborate with EPA staff at their state-of-the-art Laboratory Services and Applied Science Division (LSASD) in Fort Meade MD. Here you will be part of the Environmental Service Assistance Team helping EPA achieve their mission to protect human health and the environment.

In this role you will:

Maintains order in sample storage locations
Keeps cleans and stores incoming coolers for future use
Receives supplies and distributes or stores as needed
Receives incoming sample deliveries from clients or couriers
Follow all Safety Ethics and Quality practices
Maintain all required documentation with accuracy and clarity
Read understand and perform all applicable laboratory SOPs as written
Log samples into Laboratory Information Data System (LIMS)

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

Associates Degree and 3 to 4 years of related experience or a High School Diploma/GED with some college and or technical training plus 6 years of related experience to the job description listed above.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security pass a background check and drug screen.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills the ability to think critically and direct ecological risk assessment experience .
Precious experience working in an Environmental Analytical Laboratory
Proficient with a LIMS
Must be able to work on-site at the Ft. Meade MD Laboratory Monday through Friday. This position does not offer any Hybrids work schedules at this time.

Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Ability to be flexible multi-task prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced changing environment
Strong team player with the ability to both collaborate and to take initiative and work well independently
Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet stringent deadlines
