Job Description: Senior Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) Engineer with Spacecraft ECLSS experience.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Engineer Department Manager and be responsible for leading a small team in the development of requirements design build and test of spacecraft ECLS subsystems. The successful candidate will also develop and execute test plans and procedures and generate formal documentation such as technical memorandums analysis reports design and development books or product manuals.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Oversee all aspects of product delivery for a single complicated functional assembly or multiple simple functional assemblies.
- Integrate between products/subsystems/other departments for the assembly
- Generate Technical products as required by the IPTL or Program.
- Identify risks and opportunities
- Review products from other departments/Teams and provide technical feedback.
- Provide input to IPTL on appropriate analysis test and design.
- Coordinate on decisions that have impacts outside of assembly responsibilities.
- Collaborate with other teams working on similar products.
- Ensure that requirements are met by design with input from systems engineering
- Ensure that requirements are met by test plans and execution with input from systems engineering
- Provide technical support for verification authoring
- Write the performance requirements for their assembly with help from systems engineering
- Oversee test and manufacturing to design/requirements
- Support integration and operations
- Perform sustaining engineering
- Interface with the customer at the engineering level
- Manage the assembly task execution schedule
U.S. Citizenship status is required for this position.
Required Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Bio-mechanical Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 10-12 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience
- Masters degree in Mechanical Bio-mechanical Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 8-10 years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience
- PhD degree in Mechanical Bio-mechanical Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 6-8 years with system and /or hardware design experience in the aerospace industry.
Desired Attributes:
