Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The GA for Track and Field/Cross Country reports to the Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach and assist coaches with daily tasks as it relates to the functioning of the Track and Field/Cross Country program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist coaches with practices (e.g. set up for practice record splits call out times and instruct athletes on training or practice plan.)
  • Assist with travel arrangements (e.g. Hotel reservations reserve buses for team transportation order meals for team pick-up food and water for travel days).
  • Load and unload buses for practice or competition and Drive team when needed for practice or competition.
  • Assist with the management of team gear and equipment (e.g. record sizes and place orders for team gear organize and maintain gear uniform and equipment.)
  • Assist in facility management
  • Assist with NCAA Conference Carolinas institution compliance (e.g. Record CARA logs and have student-athletes sign logs.)
  • Coordinate social media post for team and updated school record board
  • Recruiting and eligibility of new student-athletes for the institution and athletic program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual Abilities: read reports create presentations and use a computer system.
  • Hearing: hear well enough to communicate with co-workers vendors and students.
  • Dexterity grasping feeling write type and use the telephone copier and computer systems.
  • Mobility: open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus.
  • Talking: frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately loudly or quickly.
  • Lifting pulling pushing: exert up to 20 pounds of force regularly.
  • Cognitive/Emotional: ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions 75-100% of the time.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • The position is a full-time position in Athletics. The Deputy Athletic Director reports directly to the Athletic Director.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • The Deputy Athletic Director is required to work according to athletic game schedules meeting schedules as well as maintaining normal office hours.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel is required for conference and other required meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
