Job Summary

 

As an early-career Behaviour Support Practitioner youll make a real difference in the lives of people living with disability by helping them and those around them. You will focus on enhancing quality of life reducing behaviours of concern and promoting the rights of people with disability.

You will work as part of a team including practitioners a team leader and clinical advisors to support people with evidence-based practice along with developing your own knowledge skills and experience.

You live in or close to Nambour.

 

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner you will:

  • Support our clients (NDIS participants) along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Famework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Develop deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
  • Ensure individual plans reflect our clients goals passions and strengths
  • Build the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family carers friends etc

Supervision & Support:

  • you will receive weekly 1:1 clinical supervision from an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner plus opportunities to join group-based supervisions from the very beginning

  • you will be supported by your clinical advisor and clinical leadership team to advance in practice specialisation leadership case management or any aspect of your work you see as your focus area
  • you will be welcome to apply for one of the regular internal leadership positions short-term secondments or adjunct roles that are available within our team

About You

  • Current suitability (i.e. registration) with the NDIS Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner is preferred OR considerable practical experience supporting people with behaviours of concern is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Outstanding communication influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Confident computer skills
  • Flawless writing skills
  • Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle

Qualifications :

 

 

  • Degree level qualifications of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred
