This includes managing oral diseases injuries and malformations of the teeth gums and related structures. The role also involves providingappropriate interventions including the treatment of conditions affecting the nerves pulp and other dental tissues essential to tooth vitality.
Duties/Responsibilities:

- Provideappropriateandoptimalservice to all patients.
- Record patient histories
- Perform examinations of teethgumsand related tissues
- Order and interpret x-rays and other tests
- Assess and create patient-specific treatment plans
- Guide and supportidentifiedpatients in managing their preventive dental care and chronic conditions.
- Ensure patientsunderstanding oftheir condition treatmentencounteredresults and commitment to their management plan.
- Track symptoms that are being followedwork upsunderway or high-risk areas of patient(s) family or medical history.
- Administer local anesthetics to limit the amount of discomfort experienced by patients during procedures.
- Diagnose oral diseases orabnormalities andplanappropriate treatments.
- Design make and fit prosthodontic appliances such as space maintainers crowns partial dentures and denturesandwrite fabrication instructions or prescriptions for dental technicians.
- âââWrite prescriptions for antibioticsanalgesicsand other medications.
- Perform extractions on teeth that are damaged or decayed
- Treat cavities by cleaning and filling decayed areas of teeth to restore their function
- Treatexposureofpulp by pulpcapping removal of pulp from pulp chamber or non-surgical rootcanaltherapy.
- Produce and evaluate dental health educational materials.
- Planorganizeandmaintaindental health programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates commitment to and practices in line with Bowen Healths core values of respect integritymissionand stewardship.
- Proficiencyin diagnostic procedures including initial and periodic oral examinations and pulp vitality tests.
- Experience in radiographic procedures including intraoral bitewing and panoramic films.
- Experience in preventative procedures such as adult andpediatric prophylaxis nutritional counseling for dental disease prevention oral hygieneinstructionsand dental sealants
- Skilled in restorative proceduresfillings root canals and crowns.
- Proficiencyin oral surgery procedures including simple and surgical extractions.
- Ability to perform surgical incisions including incision and drainage of abscesses.
- Experience in adjunctive general services including anesthesia administration via regional block anesthesia or analgesia.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Dental degree from aCODAaccredited university
- Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience as a dentist in a clinical situation or other accepted related experience Qualified Health Care (FQHC) experience is preferred. GPR or AEGD experience preferred.
- Certificate or Professional License:Maintainsin satisfactorycondition licensure and continuing education as outlined by the Indiana State Dental Board (DDS/DMD).
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.
