We currently have an exciting opportunity for aSr. InstructorNuclear Incident & Accident/Response to join our talented team.


In this role you will...
  • Instruct nuclear weapons incident/accident response via in-residence instruction Mobile Training Team and/or field training
  • Provide mentoring on instructional techniques and course management
  • Evaluate current curriculum and identify the need for new or improved curriculum to
    include the planning development coordination and teaching of new or existing DNWScurriculum
  • Effectively utilize instructional modes to include In-Resident (IR) Distant Learning
    (DL) field training and exercises and Mobile Training Teams (MTT)
  • Review curricula and programs for accuracy completeness currency and compliance
    with applicable regulations; determining requirements for new courses and planning anddeveloping new courses
  • Assist in the review of training provided by all agencies involved in the WMD
    community by developing new curricula as needed and researching subject matter
    expertise available in the Military Services and civilian communities
  • Assess commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology and its application to instruction
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive responsive knowledge base of CWMD and
    CBRNE information 6
  • Operate as the subject matter expert on various computer models for WMD consequenceprediction and assessment to include computer-based scenarios of radiological accidentsand incidents computer-based scenarios to illustrate and apply critical decision points and computer-based scenarios to employ generic installation/managerial responses to WMD events
  • Develop IR and DL courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in support ofthe DNWS program to provide current and future U.S. Government (USG) workforcemembers with qualification in matters related to nuclear weapons with a special emphasison policy and managerial issues
  • Completes planning developing evaluating revising and conducting courses as well as advising other instructors on nuclear weapons instructional matters; educating managerial level and personnel from all military branches
  • Conducts research in relevant areas and giving subject matter expert advice to instructorcadre
  • Effectively communicate to senior leadership through briefings presentations
    written/verbal correspondence and other means as necessary that can be understood atmultiple levels
  • As needed transports students and/or moves equipment in preparation for training coursesthe instruction staff is presenting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of nuclear weapons accidents
  • Demonstrated skill in the fundamentals of instructional design needs assessments design analysis training presentation and principles of instruction curriculum development and exercise development and facilitation (FTX TTX etc.).
  • It is highly encouraged for instructor(s) to have 10-plus years DoD/DOE experience with at least 3 years in a nuclear incident/accident related field as well as instructional experience.
  • Ability to lift 25/50/70 pounds regularlyand incident exercises (NUWAIX) experience in nuclear weapons security emergencymanagement CWMD planning and consequence management planning.
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to work in extreme weather (>95 degrees Fahrenheit or <30 degrees Fahrenheit) while wearing protective clothing.
  • Ability to climb structures greater than or equal to 4 feet.
  • Experience with MS Office tools (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop presentations and brief senior leaders.

Clearance Requirement:
  • Current DOD Top Secret (TS) security clearance required.
Other Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid state drivers license comply with DoD and OSHA regulations and be trained on the vehicle (non-passenger vehicles) prior to use. Vehicles may include:
    o Passenger vans (up to 15 passenger)
    o Sedans and SUVs
    o Extended cab and regular cab pick-up trucks (long and short bed)
    o Pick-up trucks towing trailers of up to 30 feet in length
    o Stake trucks
    o Panel Trucks
    o Up to 25K forklifts
  • Acquire and maintain qualifications in American Red Cross (or equivalent) CPR and basic
    first aid.
  • Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
  • May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
  • Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
