Wayman Education is seeking a Science Technician to join a Good School on a full-time basis starting immediately. The School is based in Colchester and is looking for an organised proactive and dependable individual to support the Science department across KS3KS5. Experience and Responsibilities

• Preparing setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for Science lessons
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring all resources are stored safely and correctly
• Supporting Biology Chemistry and Physics practical work across KS3KS5
• Ensuring all COSHH Health & Safety and risk assessment procedures are followed
• Assisting teachers with demonstrations and practical activities where required
• Organising stock levels ordering replenishments and maintaining a well-organised prep room
• Supporting the wider Science department in creating an efficient positive working environment

Experience and Qualifications

• A science-related degree laboratory experience or previous school technician experience is desirable
• Strong organisation attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of safe working practices in a lab setting
• A positive reliable and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning

Salary

The salary for this Science Technician position will be paid in line with the schools support staff pay scale.
