Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Virtualization Engineer to design implement manage and support our virtualized infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will have expertise in virtualizing enterprise applications systems and services working with VMware Hyper-V and other virtualization technologies to ensure maximum performance scalability and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy virtualized environments for enterprise systems using VMware Hyper-V or other virtualization technologies.
• Implement and maintain virtual servers networks and storage systems ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Perform system capacity planning and hardware upgrades to ensure system stability and performance.
• Manage the lifecycle of virtual machines (VMs) from provisioning to decommissioning.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for virtualized infrastructure ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with system administrators network engineers and other teams to optimize infrastructure performance.
• Monitor and manage the health of virtualized environments using performance monitoring tools and proactive alerts.
• Automate processes and tasks within the virtualized infrastructure to improve operational efficiency.
• Document configurations designs and best practices for virtualization technologies.
• Ensure compliance with security policies including patch management and vulnerability assessments for virtual systems.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution ensuring that virtualization systems are included in business continuity plans.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in virtualization and infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Virtualization Engineer Systems Engineer or similar role with hands-on experience in virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere Hyper-V or Citrix XenServer.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts architecture and implementation.
• Experience with storage technologies networking protocols and systems integration for virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools (e.g. PowerShell Ansible Terraform).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve issues in complex environments.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes and tools for virtualized environments.
• Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Certifications such as VMware VCP Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or similar are preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and management tools (e.g. vRealize Operations SolarWinds).
