Job Description: SAP ABAP Consultant (ECC & S/4HANA)

Location: Neenah or Oconomowoc in Wisconsin area (Hybrid)

Duration: Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with deep experience across ECC and S/4HANA environments. The ideal candidate will be proficient in custom development Z-table data extraction and preparing detailed technical documentation that maps extracted data to business logic. This role requires strong analytical capabilities performance tuning expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Develop enhance and maintain ABAP programs in ECC and S/4HANA systems.
Extract and analyze data from custom Z-tables across modules (FI MM SD HR etc.).
Collaborate with functional teams to understand business logic and data dependencies.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including:
- Data extraction logic
- Field-level mappings
- Business rule interpretation
- Source-to-target lineage

Perform performance tuning and optimization of custom reports and data extraction routines.
Conduct unit testing and support integration testing with functional teams.
Ensure adherence to SAP development standards and naming conventions.
Support migration and transformation initiatives involving ECC to S/4HANA.

Business Object Processing Framework (BOPF)

Data Handling & Extraction

Z-table extraction with joins filters delta logic
Performance tuning of SELECT statements
Open SQL and Native SQL usage
Data dictionary object creation (Z tables views domains data elements)
Handling clustered and pooled tables (ECC legacy)

Documentation & Technical Design

Technical Specification Document (TSD) preparation
Field-level mapping and source-to-target lineage
Business logic annotation and transformation rules
Functional-to-technical traceability matrix
Version-controlled documentation for migration audits

Preferred Qualifications

8-10 years of SAP ABAP experience with at least 3 years in S/4HANA.
Experience in ECC to S/4HANA development & migration projects.
Good understanding of FI CO SD MM PP & SRM processes and modules.
Exposure to BI/ BW is an added advantage
