Location: Houston TX
Pay Rate: $33 $40 per hour (based on experience)
About the Company
We are a specialized manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers serving the oil & gas petrochemical power HVAC and food processing industries. With strong engineering and fabrication expertise we deliver efficient reliable and custom thermal solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support our sales and engineering teams by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities -
Review customer inquiries specifications datasheets and drawings to understand full technical and commercial requirements.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for shell and tube heat exchangers including materials labor fabrication testing painting and logistics.

Interpret and apply ASME TEMA and client-specific standards for compliance.
-
Work with engineering procurement and production teams to obtain accurate material and labor costs.
-
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals within deadlines.
-
Recommend cost-effective design alternatives while maintaining quality and compliance.
-
Maintain updated databases for material pricing subcontractor rates and historical costs.
-
Support sales during client negotiations and clarify cost breakdowns as needed.
-
Participate in handover meetings to ensure smooth project transition from estimating to execution.
Qualifications -
Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2 5 years of estimating or proposal engineering experience ideally in heat exchangers pressure vessels or fabrication.

Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII TEMA and related design codes.
-
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs GA drawings and fabrication drawings.

Experience with Excel ERP systems or estimation software.
-
Excellent attention to detail analytical ability and time management.

Strong communication skills for interacting with clients suppliers and cross-functional teams.
