Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 Job Responsibilities:
- The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care.
- Ensure improvements in practice by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning and provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource preceptor and mentor.
- Assists the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab
- Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes. Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs.
- Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (e.g. treatment options). Responds to changes in patient needs and provides holistic care.
- Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process. Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous years goals.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing -OR graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology -OR Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
- Certification:
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
- Registered in one of the below unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI)
- Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV)
- Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required.
- License:If doesnt possess one of the above registries must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse within 12 months of hire
