Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced sewist to work on an hourly on-call/independent vendor basis. Must be available with relatively short notice (usually 1-3 days) to come to our headquarters in Lenexa KS and assist with bridal gown alteration and repairs. Attention to detail a sharp eye and high-quality standards are a must. Quick turn-around is often required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

The following sewing skills are required:

Experience sewing delicate fabric silks and laces
Reinforcing loose beading
Replacing hanger and train loops
Sewing on and replacing buttons
General tacking-must know how to tack seamlessly
and not have visible stitches
Replacing/changing boning
Adjusting bust cups
Replacing zippers
Sew lace motifs and lace placement adjustment
Fix open seams
Remove stains dirt or water marks
Adjust belt sizes
Trim excess seam allowance
Draping skills are a plus
