IT Senior Director – SAP ERP

Primary Job Function

The Sr. Director IT SAP ERP is a global leader responsible for delivering technology strategy solutions and services for Abbott across Abbott Nutrition Medical Devices Diagnostics Diabetes Care Point of Care and Molecular. The role is responsible for modernizing and transforming Global planning and supply Commercial Procurement Manufacturing Quality Logistics Warehousing Supply Chain and Compliance.

The position provides strategic leadership to executive leadership and their teams including the Vice Presidents and Affiliate General managers guiding and leading the Organization in driving standardizing adopting best in class process towards business transformation application modernization cybersecurity data protection quality and compliance.

This position will develop implement and manage next generation ERP solutions (S/4HANA) for Abbott enabling them to perform their business functions more effectively and efficiently. This role will define the ERP application architecture hosting strategies security postures and technology roadmaps to accelerate business growth. This role should posses experience in delivery programs in SAP ECC solution.

This position is accountable for architecting establishing and maintaining next generation cloud ERP technologies that will support > $8 bn of Abbott revenue (20%) and $20bn in intercompany transfer without any disruption to business. This position will have accountability for managing $30MM of annual costs to support these next generation technologies.

The position requires a knowledge of several end-to-end business processes across Abbotts diverse business functions (commercial manufacturing quality regulatory legal procurement supply chain) an in-depth knowledge of software delivery methodology processes and tools and capabilities within the next generation ERP technology to meet Abbotts growth. This position requires proven leadership in delivery of SAP ERP solutions and very strong organization and change management experience.

Core Job Responsibilities

Specific IT Responsibilities:

• ERP Systems Strategy- Responsible for leadership of developing and deploying solutions that support Abbott commercial affiliates identifying process efficiencies and state-of-the-art solutions and innovation through successful consistent and predictable delivery of programs projects and applications.
• IT Delivery & Support Ensures delivery of IT solutions collaborating with business to ensure good solution / application architecture and design resourcing skills and capabilities. Establishes and maintains support teams to ensure operations and maintenance of all applications supporting affiliates in 40 countries.
• Compliance - Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Assure compliance to all internal/external regulatory and policies.
• Cybersecurity - Responsible for oversight and enforcement of internal security policies and applicable external cyber regulations across functions.
• Ensure customer and supplier relationships are fostered and strengthened.

• People Management - Manage a high-performing team of 40 employees and service providers to deliver a quality solutions and global services with adherence to standard processes tools and service levels. Negotiate contracts with strategic partners.

• Budget Management - Develop and direct budget execution plans to ensure resources for changing client demands.

Responsible for managing internal external and offshore contract equivalent required for full delivery to Abbotts enterprise division and/or site.

Position Accountability / Scope

Span of Business Function Control:

• This position will support all Abbott divisions (AN ADC CRDx AMD APOC EPD & MD) Corporate functions (Procurement international trade tax) and the global financial planning and shared services teams to define a strategy roadmap long-range investment plan and execute on the technological transformation program to support commercial manufacturing procurement finance quality logistics distribution and supply chain processes by implementing next generation SAP ERP (S/4HANA) SAP Warehouse management solutions and SAP integration technologies. This position delivers technological solutions across all Divisional functions (Commercial manufacturing quality logistics distribution supply chain) Corporate Financial Planning and Reporting Treasury Accounts Receivable Management Corporate Disbursement Operations Corporate Tax Corporate Customs Internal Audit and Expense Reporting.

• This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining the integration of the ERP systems to more than 500 non SAP platforms that support various functional across Abbott. Examples include CMS Next (CRDx service management) ADDOne (CRDx demand and supply planning tool) KGL (General Ledger) ARM (Accounts Receivable) KAP (Accounts Payable) XMS/ERT (Expense Reporting/Management) ACE (MDB Costing) IVIS (Fixed Assets) and Tracer (Project Accounting); Hyperion.
• This position reports to the DVP ERP within BTS.
• This position must have a strong executive presence and strategic mindset as the role interacts with all levels Directors DVPs Corporate Officers and EVPs. This position requires work with cross-functional teams cross-divisional teams and global teams.
• This position requires considerable balancing of demands for ongoing projects and ongoing strategy with unanticipated demands and delivery of project management solutions across the enterprise. This position deals with external suppliers and agencies on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Education

Bachelors Degree Computer Science Business or Related required. Masters / MBA degree preferred.
