Role: Sr. Developer                                                                              

Location: Minneapolis

Duration: 12 months

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of large-scale React applications and frontend architecture (component libraries state management routing SSR/CSR strategies).
• Define and enforce frontend standards: component patterns accessibility (WCAG) performance budgets and testing strategy.
• Build and evolve a shared component library (Storybook) and design system for reuse across products.
• Drive decisions on frameworks/tools (React TypeScript Redux/RTK/React Query Vite/Webpack) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize client performance (code-splitting lazy loading tree shaking bundle analysis critical rendering path).
• Implement robust testing (unit integration E2E) and observability for frontend (RUM synthetic monitoring).
• Mentor senior and mid-level frontend engineers; run code reviews and architecture sessions; grow the frontend discipline.
• Collaborate with backend/platform teams to design APIs (REST/GraphQL) and ensure secure resilient integrations.
• Own release quality: feature flagging canary/blue-green rollouts rollback plans and performance gating.
• Participate in product discovery and translate UX requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Must-have skills & experience

• 12 years professional software engineering; significant portion working primarily on front-end web apps.
• 6 years hands-on experience building complex React applications in production.
• Deep mastery of React (hooks concurrent patterns Suspense) and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with server-side rendering / hybrid frameworks ( or equivalent) and static generation patterns.
• Proven track record building and maintaining component libraries and design systems (Storybook BEM/Atomic design).
• Expertise in state management approaches (Redux/RTK MobX Recoil Zustand React Query) and when to apply each.
• Solid knowledge of modern build tools (Vite Webpack Rollup) bundling strategies and performance tuning.
• Experience with testing frameworks: Jest React Testing Library Cypress/Playwright for E2E.
• Familiar with accessibility standards (WCAG) and implementing accessible components.
• Practical experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions Azure DevOps Jenkins) and release automation.
• Strong debugging skills across browser Node and mobile web; familiarity with browser performance tools and monitoring (Lighthouse Sentry Datadog RUM).
• Excellent communication mentoring and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with micro-frontend architectures (Module Federation Web Components single-spa).
• Familiarity with GraphQL (Apollo/Relay) and schema design.
• Prior role owning frontend architecture or leading a frontend engineering guild.
• Experience integrating frontends with mobile/web hybrid apps or Electron.
• Knowledge of cloud/CDN optimizations (Edge caching CloudFront Fastly) and image optimization strategies.
• Background in product-driven companies and direct collaboration with designers (Figma workflow).
