Who are we looking for

GHDs Southeast Water business is growing and looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Charlotte NC. In this role your primary role will be to develop and calibrate watershed riverine and estuarine models. This is a part-time as needed position with an hourly schedule that will fluctuate throughout the year.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes systems and procedures then deliver a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
• Knowledge Management System: Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes for an area of responsibility.
• Business Requirements Identification: Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews document analysis workshops and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes products or business unit structure.
• Contract Management: Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.
• Testing: Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards.
• Policy Development and Implementation: Help develop procedures for an area of the organization and monitor their implementation.
• Product and Solution Development: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
• Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
• Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.

What youll bring to the team:

• 15 years of water modeling experience is required
• Knowledge of the Clean Water Act and experience with water quality standards TMDLs wasteload allocations nutrient and BOD allocations model calibration and model scenarios
• Models such as LSPC HSPF WRDB EFDC WASP and RIV1 are desired
