Night Care Assistant

Hours:7 PM - 7 AM (with a sleeping element from 10 PM - 6 AM)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care for a client with early onset dementia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and resilient personality capable of managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism. This role requires a commitment to ensuring the safety comfort and well-being of the client during nighttime hours.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide attentive and compassionate care to the client during the night ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is upheld.

- Assist with personal care tasks including bathing grooming and toileting while respecting the clients preferences and comfort.

- Monitor the clients condition and report any significant changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.

- Engage the client in meaningful activities or conversation to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being particularly during wakeful periods.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a care role particularly with individuals with dementia or similar conditions is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients and their families.

- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

- Understanding of dementia and its effects on behavior and personality.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Must pass background checks as required by law.
