Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Psychologist for the Edison Outpatient Department within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Under the direction of the Program Director the Psychologist provides therapeutic interventions for the psychological and social needs of individuals served. Provides psychological testing as required by the program to increase our understanding of the issues experienced by the individuals we serve. Supports the integration of evidence based practices and provide therapeutic interventions based upon the principles of wellness and recovery. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Actively participates in and contributes to the smooth functioning of unit and demonstrates initiative and flexibility regarding work assignments as observed by supervisor and administrative feedback. Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and preserves their human dignity as observed by supervisor. Provides direct care psychotherapeutic interventions/services in accordance with UBHC program/unit policies accreditation standards licensing regulations and billing requirements. Consistently provides individual group and family therapy based on sound clinical judgment with empathy and concern as indicated by supervisory observation and feedback from individual served family and fellow team members. Completes and monitors clinical records in compliance with UBHC program policies accreditation standards licensing regulations and billing requirements. Takes a lead clinical role in the department including the professional development of staff students and interns as assigned by supervisor.

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care ( UBHC ) established in 1971 offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children adolescents adults and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHCs 1060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment prevention and education. UBHC one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient outpatient partial hospitalization screening crisis stabilization family/caregiver support community outreach and case management supportive housing supported employment prevention and consultation employee assistance programs and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police veterans active military teachers mothers of special needs children and child protective service FY2016 UBHC treated 16199 consumers had 24502 admissions and touched the lives of 19441 individual callers through peer addition UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services Children and Families and Corrections delivering 16000 trainings each year.
