Position Summary
Circuit Check Inc. is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Electrical Mechanical and Software Engineering teams. This position is responsible for driving innovation managing multidisciplinary engineering functions and overseeing all aspects of product design development and delivery. The Director will also lead Research & Development (R&D) efforts to explore new technologies expand product capabilities and ensure that Circuit Check remains at the forefront of the electronic test equipment industry.
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a strong technical background and proven ability to deliver complex engineering programs on time and within budget while fostering collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to Engineering Managers (Electrical Mechanical and Software) and their teams
- Build and maintain a high-performing innovative engineering organization
- Establish departmental goals performance metrics and accountability standards.
- Research & Development
- Direct R&D initiatives to identify evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance product performance and competitiveness
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define and develop next-generation test equipment solutions
- Oversee prototype development proof-of-concept validation and transition to production.
- Engineering Operations
- Manage all phases of product development from concept through release ensuring quality compliance and manufacturability
- Implement best practices in engineering processes documentation and design reviews
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations (ISO IPC UL CE etc.).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations and Manufacturing to ensure smooth transfer of designs to production
- Support Sales Marketing and Project Management in developing customer proposals and delivering solutions that meet technical requirements
- Work with Procurement to qualify suppliers and components that align with project and product needs.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage engineering budgets staffing and resource allocation
- Prioritize investments in tools infrastructure and training to support long-term innovation and efficiency
- Recruit retain and develop engineering talent.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Software Engineering or related field required; Masters degree preferred
- 10 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Background in electronic test equipment automated test systems or complex electromechanical systems preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills
- Broad technical knowledge across electrical mechanical and software engineering disciplines
- Demonstrated success in driving R&D initiatives and bringing innovative products to market
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and capital investments
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving.

The salary range is $130000 to $190000 per year. The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable consistent and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation annually identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
