Job Summary

Summary Of Position
The Child Development Center at Keene State College invites applications for an Early Childhood Teacher in the preschool classroom (a multi-age grouping of sixteen 2.9 to 4.11-year-olds) to work in partnership with the center staff to achieve highest standards of quality for children families and college students. This is a benefited 89% time position with appointment dates from early-August to mid-June each year. The Child Development Center ( CDC ) located on the Keene State College campus in Elliot Center is a demonstration early childhood education site for Keene State College students practicing professionals and young children and their families. The Center strives to model best practices by offering nurturing environments where young children are encouraged to explore to be creative to cultivate positive relationships to experience the joy of learning and to develop a sense of community. The CDC is a dynamic learning community dedicated to providing excellent practical experiences for students studying to enter the teaching profession or a related profession with young children. Undergraduate and graduate students are offered supervised experiences under the guidance of early childhood professionals in the direct education and care of infants toddlers and preschool-aged children. Through collaboration the CDC staff contributes to an educational environment that encourages professionalism growth and diversity. To learn more about the Child Development Center please visit: Under the guidance of the center director the successful candidate will plan implement and model best practices in early childhood programs for children families and college students. The Early Childhood Teacher also mentors and assists in the supervision of college students.

Other Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Family Studies Elementary Education or related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood Education including 3 credits in child development; one year of related experience; demonstrated communication and organizational skills; sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this position including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
1-3 years of experience lead teaching children B-5; teaching experience in a laboratory early childhood center NH Credential Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification. Additionally the College has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
