Position Overview:

Woolpert is hiring an Engineering Designerto join our dynamic Aviation team. This position may be based in any of the following offices: Chicago IL Cincinnati OH Cleveland OH Columbus OH Dayton OH Indianapolis IN. This role is responsible for creating and reviewing technical drawings particularly using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. You will prepare detailed installation and design models conduct quality control checks and review client documentation.

This role offers flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity from one of our Midwest offices. Candidates based in Ohio Indiana Illinois or Kentucky are strongly preferred.

What you will do:

  • Prepare dimensional drawings installation drawings and more complex drawings
  • Review blueprints plans specifications and other customer documentation if service is requested by the engineer or project manager
  • Perform quality control redline checks before having plan sets roll up to Project Managers
  • Work with AutoCAD functions including sheet set manager tool palettes AutoCAD annotations Civil 3D annotations tables and scales
  • Develop design models including points alignments profiles cross sections corridors surfaces and pipe networks
  • May assign/manage efforts in the CAD/Civil 3D department
  • Train staff on the most current technologies being utilized in the industry

What you will bring:

  • 5 years of experience using CAD for airfield design projects.
  • Ability to work proficiently with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Civil Engineering design and documentation software) is required
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members
  • Strong knowledge with CAD set up using surveyor data
  • Possess knowledge of coordinate systems cartographic layout and design techniques
  • Basic understanding of Civil engineering and design practices
  • Ability to prepare various support graphics for reports and meetings
  • Computer skills: AutoCAD Civil 3D AutoCAD Map and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD Map is preferred

Pay Range

$65800 - $98800 USD
